AFI films of the year.

So, the American Film institute has released it’s top ten films of the year, in alphabetical order, their usual classy style:

Beasts of the Southern Wild
The Dark Knight Rises
Django Unchained
Les Miserables
Life of Pi
Moonrise Kingdom
Silver Linings Playbook
Zero Dark Thirty

While not all of these films have been released in the UK as yet, that is still a pretty impressive list. The ones I have seen are truly excellent, and I’m excited to wend my way through this list in the run up to Oscar season.

Even the Dark Knight Rises, which is a controversial addition, sparking much internet debate, made the cut. I liked it a lot myself. This was a really great year for film, and I think the folks over at the AFI had a tricky decision to make in choosing just ten, and you can’t please everyone.
